Bugler

Job Description:
The Bugler plays the bugle at monthly campouts and at Courts of Honor. Scout must be able to play the trumpet/bugle/cornet.
(Note: The Bugler position does NOT count toward rank of Eagle.)

Responsible to:

Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

Minimum Rank:

Tenderfoot Scout

Minimum Training:

Prior brass instrument experience, Trainers 

Job Description:
The Bugler plays the bugle at monthly campouts and at Courts of Honor. Scout must be able to play the trumpet/bugle/cornet.
(Note: The Bugler position does NOT count toward rank of Eagle.)

Responsible to:

Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

Minimum Rank:

Tenderfoot Scout

Minimum Training:

Prior brass instrument experience, Trainers EDGE preferred

Term:

Approximately 5 months

Minimum Attendance:

The Bugler should attend at least 80% of the Tuesday meetings and at least 75% of the monthly campouts


Specific Duties:

  • Play reveille every morning and taps every night at all Troop campouts, when possible.
  • Play taps at the conclusion of the Courts of Honor.
  • Play the bugle/trumpet/cornet at the request of the Scoutmaster or SPL.
  • Be on time for all troop meetings and activities.
  • Set a good example.
  • Enthusiastically wear the scout uniform.
  • Live by the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Be an active Scout and show Scout spirit.
