Thank you for your interest in our troop! The leaders and parents of WABC Troop 242 are dedicated to supporting all Scouts as they begin, continue, and complete their journey to the rank of Eagle Scout.
To join our troop, your son will need to attend one of our weekly meetings, held every Tuesday at 7:00 PM. It is important for prospective Scouts to experience some of our activities firsthand, as this ensures that joining is their decision and responsibility. Before attending a meeting, a brief coordination discussion with the Scoutmaster/Parent Coordinator and a parent is required.
To register, a Scouting America application and health forms are needed. You can find the youth and adult applications, along with the required medical forms, linked below. Forms A & B are required for joining, while Form C will be needed by early spring for summer camp preparation.
For any adult wishing to attend a campout, a Scouting America adult application, Youth Protection Training certification, and a Background Check Authorization form are required (links below).
Scouting America provides a traditional Scouting experience for youth (boys and girls) from fifth grade through high school. As they progress, service, community engagement, and leadership development become key aspects of the program, ultimately guiding them toward achieving Scouting highest rank Eagle Scout.
We look forward to welcoming you to Troop 242! Please let us know if you have any questions.
The Youth and Adult Applications are included in the Online process. Adults will also need to complete Youth Protection Training (See steps below) and print and sign the Background Check Authorization Form (see links below).
